Jim Elkins has served on the Ketchikan Gateway Borough Assembly and has volunteered on the Ketchikan Chamber of Commerce, Ketchikan Visitor's Bureau, American Legion, and other service organizations in the Ketchikan community. Jim Elkins has successfully operated a profitable small business for 30 years. He understands the political process and how to communicate well with groups and individuals on a variety of issues. Jim Elkins supports improving Southeast Alaska's communities by building up the infrastructure so vital to a healthy economy. He supports forward funding of education. Mr. Elkins is a 36 year resident of Ketchikan.
