Boat Fire Extinguished

Ketchikan, AK - The Harry Newell Fire boat, the U.S. Coast Guard and several Ketchikan Fire Department engines, ambulances and fire fighters responded to a small boat fire Friday morning.

At approximately 11:15 Friday morning, the 'Brenda Kim', a 30 foot charter boat reported it had an engine fire. The boat was leaving the Tongass Narrows near Carrs when the report was made.

The fire was extinguished by the Ketchikan Fire Department and the United States Coast Guard towed the disabled boat to Bar Harbor.

There were no injuries reported.
