Chance To Comment Gravina Access Project DEIS Fast Approaching

September 06, 2003
Saturday - 12:50 am

Your chance to learn about and comment on the Draft Environmental Impact Statement for the Gravina Access Project, addressing access between Revillagigedo Island and Gravina Island, is approaching. Meetings will be held in Ketchikan September 16th through 18th.

September 16th from 3 pm to 8 p.m. will be an open house where the public can review the draft document, view maps and models of project alternatives, and talk to project personnel.

September 17th and 18th from 7 pm to 10 p.m. are public hearings where individuals or group representatives may offer their comments for the record. Both sessions will be preceded by an open house from 5:00 pm to 7 p.m. Those who principally have marine navigation comments are encouraged to testify on September 17th, although any topic may be addressed at either session.

All meetings will be at the WestCoast Cape Fox Hotel, 800 Venetia Way in Ketchikan.

For more information, visit the project web site at www.gravina-access.com or telephone Reuben Yost at 907-465-1828. Copies of the Draft EIS are now available for your review at the Ketchikan Public Library, the Ketchikan Gateway Borough Planning Department, and the Gravina Access Project office at 430 Dock Street in Ketchikan. A downloadable copy of the Draft EIS can be viewed at www.gravina-access.com.
