Ketchikan man arrested for alleged burglary

(SitNews) Ketchikan, Alaska - Ketchikan Police Officers responded to an intrusion alarm at the Tongass Trading Marine Company in the early morning hours last Thursday.  According to a press release, upon arrival officers noted a broken door. 

It was determined by the investigating officers that five handguns had been stolen from the company. Based on information learned during the investigation, including the recovery of one of the handguns, a search warrant was executed approximately 15 miles north of Ketchikan at a Christopher Road residence with the assistance of the Alaska State Troopers. 

Corey C. E. Thompson, age 23 of Ketchikan was contacted and arrested for twelve felony charges including Burglary in the Second, Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree, five count of Theft in the Second Degree and five counts of Misconduct Involving Weapons in the Third Degree for a being a felon in possession of the handguns. 

Thompson was transported to the Ketchikan Correctional Center and held on $50,000.00 bail. 

The other four handguns were recovered by the officers.
