Ketchikan, Alaska - For the second consecutive year, Bronze Maiden Seafoods, LLC has been awarded the "BEST OF KETCHIKAN 2010" in the Fish and Seafood category by the U.S. Commerce Association (USCA). Each year the USCA identifies companies that they believe have achieved exceptional marketing success in their local community and business category. According to the USCA, these are local companies that enhance the positive image of small business through service to their customers and community.

Nationwide, only 1 in 70 (1.4%) 2010 Award recipients qualified as two-time Award Winners. Various sources of information were gathered and analyzed to choose the winners in each category. The 2010 USCA Award Program focuses on quality, not quantity. Winners are determined based on the information gathered both internally by the USCA and data provided by third parties.

Bronze Maiden Seafoods has operated its retail store in Ketchikan at 1414 Tongass Avenue since April, 2005. Open year round, specializing in sustainable, wild Alaska seafood - fresh, frozen and tinned. Wild Alaska Seafood product offerings include their exclusive "SIGNATURE SEAFOOD" line. This special catch can be traced back to the Alaska commercial fishing vessel from which it comes.

Currently, the "SIGNATURE SEAFOOD" line includes Alaska King, Sockeye & Silver Salmon, Weathervane Scallops, Spot Prawns and Shrimp. Alaska frozen seafood goods include Halibut, Halibut Cheeks, Ling Cod, Yellow Eye, Dungeness Crab Clusters, Brown King Crab Clusters, Red King Crab Legs & Claws, Spot Prawns, Shrimp, Black Cod, Smoked Black Cod and Smoked Salmon Strips. New to the tinned shelves is the Seafood Producers Cooperative's SPC™ brand Gourmet Canned Albacore Tuna. Caught by hook & line this Albacore Tuna is dolphin safe. While not a wild Alaska seafood offering, many local commercial fishermen belong to the Cooperative. Locally hand-packed tinned Smoked Halibut, Smoked Sockeye, King, Silver & Pink Salmon and shelf-stable retort smoked salmon are also available.

Local artwork and specialty items are available at the shop as well. These diverse offerings include: Mosaic Wall Hangings by Linnie Effenberger along with her new "Seafood Seasoning" mixes; Doreen McDaniel's scratchboard art, her Ketchikan collection of prints and cards; hand-crafted wood works by Mike Jausoro and John Warnack; playing cards by MJ Cadle; Chaz Jazz earrings by Chaz Stauton; Alaska Brand Cranberry Vinegar; for cookbook collectors the Vig-Holdal Family Cookbook; Kay's Kitchen Cookbook, and Alaskan Rockin' Galley Cookbook are on hand.

Frozen seafood is shipped from Ketchikan by overnight delivery service and shelf-stable by mail service. Recipe ideas and custom gift cards (as appropriate) are always included. The website is also a source for recipe ideas by clicking on the "Kitchen" or on the "Blog" buttons.

Bronze Maiden Seafoods is locally owned and operated. Open year round at 1414 Tongass Avenue.
