Ketchikan Outdoor Trails and Recreation Coalition (KORTC) volunteers had two productive work parties on the trail from Point Higgins School to Coast Guard Beach over the weekend of August 22-23 thanks to generous donations from several individuals and businesses in the community:

Jack and Marilyn Lee donated money to purchase a load of 3" minus crushed rock
Pool Engineering, Inc. gave a twenty percent discount on the rock
CM Construction donated truck time to haul rock to the site
Tyler Rental, Inc. donated the use of a John Deere mini backhoe for the weekend
Brent Johnson was our mechanic on call
Volunteers who worked on the project were John Dickinson, Alethea Johnson, Jim Pomplun and David Wiechelman

During these work parties the group completed reconstruction on two sections of existing trail in preparation for new construction on the undeveloped trail closer to the beach. A big "Thank You" to all who are supporting this effort!
