Long Term Planning - AMEN!

Ms Mackey, this is right on...for one, I appreciate the efforts made by those supporting the initiative to bring the issues to the table. I have been listening carefully to both "sides" and BOTH want this community to take a long term look at its economic development and community building needs and opportunities. It's a pity we have to take citizen action to remind our governments of the duties they have failed to perform. I guess, if we are to level blame, it is easy to start by looking to our governments' management, then to the elected officials who are responsible to oversee that management. But isn't it the responsibility of the voters who elect those officials? There is an opportunity in October to speak out about what our community wants in electing our representatives. Ketchikan has so much to offer, so much to capitalize on, so much to be proud of. Let's take the responsibility to act to assure our future.
