Taxes

Okay let's give the White Cliff School to the groups that want to use it. Or better, let them purchase it for fair market value. Go though all the right hoops and get grant money etc. to do the fix up.

When north Tongass got its new fire department, we out north were told our taxes would not go up. Guess what - they did a yearly fee, plus mil rate hike, property values increased.

Are we the only place on earth that charges taxes on VIEW. It is part of our property assessment. We are being taxed for living in one of the most beautiful places on earth. More if you can see the water from any where on your lot or house.

Just my thoughts. I fully think that the arts, seniors and ballet need a home but I do not think it should be at our expense.
