Youth Baseball
By Chris Elliott

Brad Groghan hit the nail on the head----several times. The only comment I would add is that when choosing All Stars, sometimes there's an overabundance of, say, pitchers, who are great players. The final 3-4 All Stars may be chosen based not just on their overall playing ability and good sportsmanship but also on the need to round out the team. If there's a great outfielder and you don't have any great outfielders, that may come into play. As Brad says, the coaches want to win, and to do that, they need good people in all the positions.
