Last probably hasn't been heard...

Well, the system works, and whether or not you were for or against the city's plan, the last probably hasn't been heard from on the subject of the North End pier(s).

It just may come that private enterprise will build the pier(s), and maybe that's how it should've been done all along. My thought has always been that private business should do business and the municipalities should stick to fair government.

Hmmm, if private enterprise builds on privately owned uplands, who will pay for improved parking, sidewalks, and promenades on city property. Will that money come from city coffers, and head tax funds already on hand? Or will there be raised property taxes as those monies now won't be part of what was being bonded for.

It never stops being interesting here in our little town. I'm just thankful to live in a country where opinions can be discussed in an open forum.

Stay tuned....

respectfully,
