Dock expansion
By Janelle Hamilton

I have been reading Sitnews to keep up with all the controversy regarding the dock expansion.

Forget who said what (don't mean to offend anyone). But yes, some of the buildings past the tunnel look bad! Who owns these places?

Yes the downtown area is a tourist trap and I too am glad to see some stores (few) that are not run by people from outside of Ketchikan who will not spend hardly any of the money they make in Ketchikan. I personally do not spend any of my hard earned money in any of the jewelry stores that cater to tourists.

Also, I live north of town so cannot vote. Shoot, who made that decision that people in the borough cannot vote? I pay attention to things that are happening in Ketchikan and would like to be able to put my two cents in and vote at local elections!

Also, maybe I am dense but after reading all the letters regarding the dock expansion, neither side has swayed me to believe that their vote is best!
