Ketchikan, Alaska - There were many fun events during the Blueberry Festival, one being the Great Blueberry Race on Saturday. Scott Sammons' blueberry ball #330 proved to be the 'hot rod' ball and claimed the first place winning purse of $1,000 for Sammons. Close behind was Sam Bergeron's blueberry ball. Bergeron won $300 when his blueberry ball #1228 grabbed second place. Laurie Murphy claimed the third place prize of $150.

Proceeds from the Great Blueberry Ball Race will benefit the Ketchikan Youth Court.

2nd Place - Ticket 1228 - Sam Bergeron - $300

3rd Place - Ticket 59 - Laurie Murphy - $150

4th Place - Ticket 945 - Ward Cove Deli & Liquor - $20.00

5th Place - Ticket 402 - Pat Chapman- $20.00

6th Place - Ticket 1141 - Sharron Dennis - $20.00

7th Place - Ticket 1089 - D. Terry - $20.00

8th Place - Ticket 79 - Rosenfeld - $20.00

9th Place - Ticket 1093 - Myrna Garza - $20.00

10th Place - Ticket 1085 - Ty Gass- $20.00

Ketchikan Youth Court Coordinator Gretchen Klein said, "The youth court appreciates everyone's support."
