Ward Cove discussion
by Dave Kiffer

The discussion over the Ward Cove-Spruce Mill land swap is a good thing because it is refocusing attention on just what should be done with the property that the borough "inherited" in Ward Cove.

Should it be broken up and sold to whomever is interested? Should big parcels be kept intact to encourage a larger industrial use? And just what uses should the borough pursue? A veneer mill? An ethanol plant? A water bottler? A cold storage? A boat harbor? Additional cruise ship docks? Even after commissioning an economic development study of the property, the borough is left with more questions than answers. What do you think?
