Ketchikan, AK - Visitors to City Park Tuesday found the monument which honors the site of the Vietnam Moving Wall Memorial knocked over. The monument marks the site where the Vietnam Moving Wall Memorial was displayed in July of 1997. The Moving Wall Memorial was sponsored in July of 1997 by the American Legion, Ketchikan Post 3, for the community of Ketchikan. Reports of the fallen or pushed-over monument were made to the Public Works Department and the Ketchikan Police Department late Tuesday afternoon. On Wednesday morning, staff
from the Ketchikan Borough Public Works Department restored the
monument to its honored position. No damage to the monument was
visible.
