(SitNews) Ketchikan, Alaska - The contractor for the Alaska Department of Transportation anticipates paving the Inter-Island Ferry Terminal parking lot at Hollis on Prince of Wales Island during the third week of August, weather permitting, according to Alaska Interstate Construction (AIC). The contractor is making arrangements to provide a nearby temporary parking area for users of the parking lot, according to IFA general manager Dennis Watson.

Details regarding location and timing of temporary parking will be shared with users as soon as details are available, advises Alaska Interstate Construction (AIC).

Users of the Hollis terminal that may need assistance with having a vehicle moved during the paving project are requested to contact AIC at 907-755-2225, or stop by the project office at 310 Bayview Boulevard in Klawock during working hours (7:00 am-5:30 pm, Monday through Saturday).

Ferry departure and arrival times at Hollis will not be impacted by the parking lot upgrade, advises Watson.
