Smokers --common sense or common stupidity
By Mike Sawyer

Dear Editor,

While shopping a local thrift store, I asked a man pulling a bottle of oxygen if it was needed due to smoking. "Yes," he humbly answered.

Then I asked a nearby store employee if he knew why this customer needed oxygen.

"Yes, and I smoke, but I've got to die from something," he swiftly replied.

With this in mind, do smokers demonstrate "common sense" or "common stupidity" as they blow their loot and life up in smoke?

With compassion,
