On the passing of Bill Thomas Sr.
By John M Derderian

Wednesday PM

My uncle Bill Thomas Sr passed on Monday July 9, 2007. He was a wonderful man who would give you the shirt off his back.

I live in Boston, Mass and I am not able to afford to fly to Ketchikan to be at his memorial and funeral, I am writing to this paper to express my sorrow of his passing. I loved him and I will miss him dearly. He was a decent man who always believed that family and friends are important. He liked the fact that in his town everybody knew each other and that he wanted to help Ketchikan maintain its roots.

He even ran for mayor of your fine city. My uncle was involved with many people on many levels. I ask that anyone who knew my uncle please say a prayer for him or stop by his memorial service and show support to my auntie and his family.

Sincerely His loving nephew,

John M Derderian
