Great Paintball Tournament! (we missed you)

Thank you to all the youth and adults who worked diligently to put on the Ketchikan Hot Shots Paintball League 4th of July tournament. The teams that participated had a great time. 1st place prize went to Team Rocket, 2nd place to the Duckworths and 3rd place to the Ninja Monkies. A total of $800 in prize money was awarded.

However, some of you enthusiasts missed the opportunity! Perhaps because you were worried about rain?--oh well, your loss--it was actually dry with some drips here and there.

We have a MEMBERSHIP MEETING scheduled for MONDAY 7/16 at 6pm at 640 Park Avenue (across from the American Legion hall). All those who are interested in setting up more tournaments and free play opportunities are invited. (Anyone age 12 and up can play. At the tournament we had one adult team, and one team with a mixture of youth and adults.)

Here is the great news! Membership costs only $5 per season (ending March 2008) for a youth under 18 and $25 for 18 and above. When you have paid your membership dues, you may use Hot Shots equipment, marker, hopper, safety mask and filled CO2 tank for FREE. All you need to do is buy paint locally (or, as available, at the field at our cost $8 per 500). And, if you volunteer to work when we host Groups at the field, you earn free paint.

This reduction in cost is available to the youth of our community by selling paintball games to groups of crew members off the cruise ships. Not only are we producing revenue that provides almost free play for our members, we are also training youth leaders. Your onging support is appreciated. We encourage adults to volunteer as mentors or refs (or players!)

Watch for more information about open field dates.
