City government fiasco
By Neil Gray

You may or may not be following (or don't care, which who would, actually??) about the San Diego city government fiasco. Their pension fund is a billion dollars underfunded, the Mayor resigned effective July 15, and two councilmen have been convictecd of fraud and accepting bribes from a strip club. One of which was the Deputy Mayor! He held that post one day before the jury guilty verdict.

Here's a solution. San Diego could bring in Tom Coyne and David Hangar to straighten out this whole mess. You think I'm kidding? I never was a Tom Coyne supporter but he would lend a little spice to the San Diego council fire. And David... he'd be out spoken enough to provide some excitement. Just a thought, even though it's tongue in cheek (kind of!!)

In reference to the tour guide comments from Olivia Round. It all starts with the hiring process. If you hire the wrong people for the job, it isn't going to work. If you hire just anybody because they are a body, it isn't going to work. They need training. Tour guides at the San Diego Zoo and other venues like that have outstanding personalities and have it together. The tour companies need to be selective and hire cautiously. A bad tour guide can definately reflect back on the community. In my job as a Guest Service Training Supervisor, we hire on personality (among other things). That comes first and foremost. My other opinion on this is, just take Lois Munch's tour, and you'll be A-OK!!

G'day!
