Open Letter: 4th of July Car Show Thanks
By Lee Caskey

July 19, 2005
Tuesday

The Ketchikan Kruzers wish to sincerely thank all those who brought cars to this year's show despite the rain and wind. This year's show was exceptional with the most new cars and widest variety that we have seen to date. The people's choice awards for the show were:

1st place - Ken Eichner's '34 Ford Coupe
2nd Place - Scott May's '56 Ford Truck
3rd Place - Mark Hoyt's '75 Corvette

This year we supported Hoopmania Basketball with the sum of $255.50 resulting from admissions taken at the show and separate donations from Lewis Motors and Karlson Motors. We wish to also thank the folks at Service Auto Parts for their support of our car club.

But most importantly we wish to thank Ron Balzer of the General Services Administration (GSA), the U.S. Immigration Service, and the U.S. Forest Service for allowing us to use the Federal Building lot again this year. We could not have done any of this without your help!

If you are reading this and think you will have to wait till next year to see so many nice cars out again, fear not. We aren't done this season! We are already planning to have another show at the Blueberry Festival this coming August. So if you didn't get a chance to make it downtown on the 4th to the show plan on seeing us again soon. Hopefully the weather will be better! :)
