University of Alaska Southeast Ketchikan Fall Course Schedule Available

Ketchikan, Alaska - The University of Alaska Southeast Ketchikan Fall 2004 course schedule is available on campus, in several locations in the community and online at www.ketch.alaska.edu in both pdf and html formats.

The schedule will be mailed to all Southern Southeast Alaskan residents the first week of August. Classes start September 7. Registration is open now and students are encouraged to register early. Schedules are currently available at the Main Campus located at 2600 Seventh Avenue, UAS Ketchikan Technical Center located at 600 Stedman, Ketchikan Public Library, Ketchikan Job Service, Ketchikan Indian Community and various other locations.

Courses being offered this fall provide students with the ability to achieve certificate, associate, bachelor and master degrees in various areas of study. The newly approved Fisheries Technology Program will offer three courses for students interested in this field of study. The CISCO Networking Academy networking associate program will again offer the first course in the series online for students unable to attend in person. This online web-based course is part of a nation-wide pilot project between CISCO Networking Academy and the University of Alaska Southeast.

Many other courses are being offered in various subject areas including art, anthropology, business, computer software, networking, English, mathematics, biology, history, health, economics, philosophy, marine technology, Russian, Spanish, welding, psychology and more.

Students interested in financial aid options should contact the university's student services coordinator early to ensure the process is complete prior to the first day of classes.

Telephone registration is available for all course offerings during regular business hours by calling 907-228-4511. The campus will have extended hours from August 30 through September 10. Saturday, August 28, the main campus will be open from 10:00am to 4:00pm with student advising, registration, payment and book pick-up available.

The University of Alaska Southeast Ketchikan Campus provides a wide variety of educational and vocational courses throughout the year. Many course offerings are available locally and at a distance via web-based, audio conference and satellite course offerings.
