Tongass77

Recently there has been a push to get Congress to pass some form of the Bill called Tongass77. I question why we need another level of protection in Southeast Alaska.

We have rigorous stream and river protection regulations already in place on the Tongass. These include the wide no-cut buffer regulations on fish streams. The likely-hood of permanence of the 2001 Road less Rule which precludes active management from more than 15 million acres of the 17 million-acre forest is just some of the many layers of protection.

Each level of beauracacy from our ever loving nanny the federal government just makes it harder for the Alaskan residents to enjoy what Alaska has to offer us. I would encourage everyone to call their congressman and senators to stop this before it gets started.
