The 8th grade class had their "Continuation Ceremony" tonight in their new school building auditorium - KAYHI. They move from being Knights to being Kings - as SBA president, Brendan Stanton, mentioned in his welcome to the new freshman class.

This was a great evening - they marched in to "Pomp and Circumstance" played by SMS music teacher Mary Kurth, one row at a time and sat down on signal - beautifully "orchestrated". They all looked so nice -all dressed up and smiles on all.

There was a dance presentation by the Kanayama Dancers.

Robin Harford, SMS Teacher, and the Yearbook Class presented a slide show - recognizing their peers with happy voices was good to hear.

Susan Stone, Kayhi English Teacher, welcomed the students to their new building and exciting years ahead as they become the Class of 2015.

SMS Principal, Bob Hewitt and 2 staff members presented the Continuation Certificates. Many of the members of this class were recipients of the Presidential Award and several of these had 4.0 average for the full year. Lots of potential in this class.

Each student walked across the stage cheered by their peers as well family and friends. And each had a big smile as they shook hands with Mr. Hewitt.

We, the community, look to this class for good things to come as each one starts to define him/herself in areas of academics, sports, music, art.

Yeah! to the SMS class of 2011 and incoming Kayhi Class of 2015!
