Ketchikan man charged in double stabbing

Ketchikan, Alaska - A 28-year old man has been arrested and charged in the stabbing of two people Wednesday evening at 340 Bawden Street, the Mary Frances Building.

According to a news release, when officers arrived, they observed a female and male victim. The female was suffering from a cut to her arm and an apparent puncture wound to the back. The male had minor cuts to his hand.

The officers learned that the suspect in the assault, Jerry Wayne Klein of Ketchikan, was known to the victims and was still on the premises.

Klein was located by the officers and arrested. Klein was transported to the Ketchikan Correctional Center where he was booked for aggravated assault in the 3rd degree and held without bail.

The male victim refused treatment. The female victim was treated and released. The victims' names were not released.

Ketchikan Police responded to the call of the stabbings at 9:12 pm Wednesday.

Charges are only accusations. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
