Ketchikan, Alaska - This sleeping fawn was photographed by Robert Gustafson at Coon Cove on Saturday, June 10, 2006. As you can see this Fawn didn't pick a very good hiding spot.

Sitka Black-tailed Deer Fawn

According to the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, the average life span of the Sitka Black-tailed Deer is about 10 years, but a few are known to have attained an age of at least 15. Fawns are born in late spring.
