June 11, 2005
Saturday

Ketchikan, Alaska - Would you believe it? With the third and final weekend of the Ketchikan King Salmon Derby beginning at 7:00 Saturday morning, this 51.2-pound king was caught Friday.

A happy customer off the Norwegian Star caught the 51.2-pound king with Captain Ben Atwood on Atwood's charter boat Ben Fishin. Atwood was happy with the catch but wishing it was caught for him today!

Val Strassel currently holds the unofficial lead in the Ketchikan King Salmon Derby with a 43.6-pound king salmon which he caught the first weekend of the derby.

Those big fish are out there! Go get'em!
