Over three pounds of processed marijuana seized;
Ketchikan man arrested

Ketchikan, Alaska - The Southeast Alaska Narcotics Enforcement Team investigators working with Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) officers have been attempting to disrupt the drug and alcohol flow between Ketchikan and Metlakatla.

According to the Alaska Bureau of Alcohol & Drug Enforcement, on June 2nd SEANET investigators contacted 37-year-old Christopher Sondie of Ketchikan on board the F/V 8-Mile concerning a report of someone dealing marijuana on the vessel to people from Metlakatla.

A search warrant was served and 3.07 pounds of processed marijuana was found on the vessel. Sondie was arrested and lodged at Ketchikan Correctional Center on one count of Misconduct Involving A Controled Substance 4.

The Southeast Alaska Narcotics Enforcement Team (S.E.A.N.E.T.) is comprised of Alaska State Troopers and local police department officers in Haines, Juneau, Ketchikan, Petersburg, Sitka, Skagway, and Wrangell. The Statewide Drug Enforcement Unit of the Alaska State Troopers is partially funded by a grant from the Bureau of Justice Assistance, United States Justice Department.

The Southeast Cities Against Drugs (S.E.A.C.A.D) is comprised of several cities and partially funded by a Federal Bryne Grant.
