June 03, 2005
Friday

Thursday, Senator Ted Stevens (R-Alaska) invited the Sweet Adelines from Fairbanks, Alaska to perform on the steps of the United States Capitol.

"It was a great honor to have the Sweet Adelines perform here in Washington, D.C.  They are a wonderful group of women with terrific voices, and they performed a beautiful rendition of the Alaska Flag Song," said Stevens.

Earlier Thursday the Sweet Adelines performed at the World War II Memorial  as part of the National Celebration of States commemorating the 60th Anniversary of World War II.  They will also be performing at the Thomas Jefferson Memorial on Saturday, June 4, 2005.
