Ketchikan, Alaska - Carmen Nollmeyer, RN, a nurse in the Medical/Surgical Department at Ketchikan General Hospital (KGH), has been named June's Employee of the Month by a committee of her peers.

Nollmeyer has been an RN for three years, having come to KGH as a new grad three years ago in July.  She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Montana State University.  "My favorite part of the job is working with a great staff," said Nollmeyer. "They make coming to work a joy."

The co-worker who nominated her for this award stated, "She cares deeply for her patients and her coworkers. She is a compassionate caregiver and a great role model for our student nurses. She is flexible and willing to do whatever is needed to make the day go smoothly."

The award of Employee of the Month at KGH recognizes those who regularly go above and beyond what is required, to provide high quality service to patients, visitors and co-workers.
