Kralis concert

I was very fortunate to be in attendance at the 1st annual OrcaFool Don and Lois Kralis Memorial Concert Monday night at the Kayhi Auditorium. The Kayhi Jazz Band, Vocal Jazz Choir, Paddy's Leather Breeches, folkies Sean Powell and Mary Larsen, and the headbangers Buck Up Little Kamper put on a wonderful and emotional performance in honor of two fine people who left us in a tragic accident 11 months ago in British Columbia.

The show was a fundraiser for an annual scholarship to be awarded to a young person passionate about their music. Regrettably, few others shared my enjoyment, as only about 30 people were in attendance. Don Kralis touched the lives of many students in his science classes and probably more so in sharing his love of music by giving guitar lessons to many students.

Not a lot of money was raised last night, but it is still possible to help the cause with a donation in honor of the Kralis's by dropping your contribution off at the Kayhi office.

In Remembrence of Don and Lois,
