Gas Prices Continue To Rise in Alaska

(SitNews) Ketchikan, Alaska - Average retail gasoline prices in Alaska have risen 6.1 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $4.26 per gallon Sunday. This compares with the national average that has fallen 0.8 cents per gallon in the last week to $3.93 per gallon, according to gasoline price website AlaskaGasPrices.com.

Ketchikan residents reported to AlaskaGasPrices.com that the lowest regular gas prices in Ketchikan per gallon ranged from $3.89 per gallon to $3.99 per gallon with premium gas prices ranging from $4.09 to $4.15 per gallon.

The lowest regual gas prices in Juneau per gallon reported today by residents to AlaskaGas.com ranged from $4.39 - $4.61 per gallon. Premium gas prices ranged from $4.33 - $4.50 per gallon.

Including the change in gas prices in Alaska during the past week, prices on Sunday were 87.9 cents per gallon higher than the same day one year ago and are 18.0 cents per gallon higher than a month ago. The national average has increased 19.4 cents per gallon during the last month and stands 100.0 cents per gallon higher than this time one year ago.
