Talent on Revilla Island
By Judith Green

Never a disappointment is the music community on our island. We have great talent and not just talent, as my son reminded me, but we have people in Ktn who 'inspire' and encourage all ages and abilities to share that which they have and enjoy.

The McPherson's jazz bands and the Kayhi jazz band did an outstanding performance on Thursday night at Kayhi. It was so good there were some of us dancing in our seats. The final number was the combined bands - WOW! what a sound came from that stage.

Thank you to all the musicians who took their time these past months to practice and rehearse so we could have such a grand evening of music. Many of the performers were in several groups - and that would be a lot of music to learn, and a lot of personal time. Practice and rehearse, then share. AND let's not forget the conductors who have to take the extra time to prepare and consider.

"We've got talent" in Ketchikan: music and dance; writers and artists: and others of the community talent base with hand crafts.

I'm glad I live in Ketchikan.
