Are youth held more accountable?

While watching the Ketchikan school board meeting on TV Wednesday night, I couldn't help but wonder.... what if it had been one of our students, say for example, the Kayhi Student Body President who represents students while sitting on the school board who had flipped off one of our teachers while they spoke at the podium? Oh my gosh, could you even imagine the outrage that would have occurred? I am certain that he/she would of been punished big time. I bet they would never be allowed to attend another school board meeting.

It seems to me that we hold our youth more accountable for their actions than we do adults and I just don't get that.
