Recycle Bins
By Carol Baines

I think the recycle bins in the parking lot near A&P Grocery are a great way to help the environment. I'm just wondering if similar bins can be placed at the other end of town, perhaps somewhere in the vicinity of the baseball field/Schoenbar Junior High?

When I lived in Los Angeles, people were required to sort their garbage so that it could be recycled: paper in one container, cans in another, bottles, etc., and they had been doing that for decades. So we have it pretty easy here in Ketchikan. I think we could do more.

I can't always get to the other end of town, and I feel guilty when I throw items away that can be recycled.
