A wonderful man

I would like to write concerning John Stenfjord who recently passed away.

Mr. Stenfjord was a wonderful man who did much for his community that was frequently overlooked.
He always hired teenagers for his store and treated them well. I worked for him at one time doing inventory when I was in high school. I remember him as pleasant, helpful and felt he cared about me.

He and his wife would walk every morning and pick up trash along South Tongass as they walked making it more beautiful for all of us.

As I would drive by in a school bus every morning they always had a smile and wave for me.

Maybe he didn't do anything that would capture the attention of the world but he made a difference in my life and I'm sure, the lives of many others in Ketchikan.

John Stenfjord made his mark and will be missed. My heartfelt condolences go to his wife and family.
