Days of Appreciation
by Gov. Frank H. Murkowski

May 06, 2005
Friday

On May 1st we celebrated Loyalty Day, May 4th was State Employee Recognition Day, and today is National Day of Prayer.  In addition, the first week of May is Vietnam Veterans Recognition Week, and this coming Sunday is Mother's Day.  These days give credence to the values of Alaskans and all Americans.

As we go about our daily lives, these special days give us an opportunity to appreciate those who have served in our military, those who serve the state as employees, and those who serve elsewhere in our communities.

My administration is working hard every day for better education, more job opportunities, and a safe living environment for our families.  This first week of May and always, we wish each and every one of you the very best that Alaska has to offer.

Sincerely yours,

Frank H. Murkowski
Governor of Alaska
