Transgender men competing in women's sports

Title IX: " No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance. ”

It’s been a lot of years since 1972 when Title IX became law. It’s been good for sports and good for girls. It’s probably the main reason why we can enjoy such a high level of athleticism and performance during the women’s Final Four. Adidas Corp however interrupts this good news story with an advertisement that flies in the face of Title IX and all girls everywhere.

Adidas is promoting transgender men competing as women in girl’s sports. To me, every female who is subjected to competing against a transgender person is subjected to discrimination. Competition should be fair. This Adidas world view is simply the opposite of what Title IX has strived to achieved in the past five decades.

I was a "fair to middling” basketball player through my high school years on the boy’s team. But, I could have DOMINATED on the girl’s team. At 6’3” and up against girls who averaged 5’6” and playing with a ball that is smaller and lighter than the ball for boys, I probably could have lead my high school girls team to become state champions. Wow! What fun.

If Adidas Corp has their way, within a few years all girls teams will have biological girls sitting on the bench while the transgenders will dominate the girls ranks and in essence will be creating two “boys” teams for every Jr. Hi, High School and College that allows this travesty to occur. For me I will boycott Adidas products and ask my friends to do the same. If you agree with my message, please pass it on.
