State Reaches Tentative Labor Agreement with ASEA-GGU

Juneau, Alaska - The State of Alaska's Department of Administration has reached a tentative agreement on a three-year contract with the Alaska State Employees Association, AFSCME Local 52-General Government Unit (ASEA-GGU) covering the period of July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2013. The agreement now goes to the membership for ratification.

Commissioner Annette Kreitzer said, "This agreement with the State's largest employee union is the result of months of meetings and exchange of views. I would like to thank both negotiating teams for their hard work and professionalism."

The tentative agreement includes the following provisions:

  • Effective July 1, 2010 the wage schedule will increase by 1%, with an additional 2% increase on July 1, 2011 and 2012.
  • Effective July 1, 2010 the Employer's health insurance premium contribution to the union's health trust will increase to $1,125 per employee per month.
  • Effective July 1, 2011 the wage schedule in effect on June 30, 2011 will be adjusted to reflect a revised geographic differential schedule.

Members of public employee bargaining units with questions about their own contracts should contact their union representatives.
