Did you know that there is a company that is applying with the State of Alaska to run an oyster farm and hardening beaches in and on the Tatoosh Islands? They are called Tatoosh Oysters, LLC and intend to put in floating docks, a floating caretaker cabin, and utilize beaches as a hardening area.

Even though the State has designated areas for shellfish farmers (mariculture) this company has chosen this prime recreation site. They are well along the way in the permitting process, but if you have any questions about it call the Borough or William Groom, Alaska Department of Natural Resources.
