Health Reform
By Jim Kempsell

Lamentably, Socratic form of debate (actually listening to an opponent, recognizing they may have some valid points) is virtually non-existent in this age of sound bites and "gotcha".

Recognizing this reality I'd like to offer a different analogy than the one put forth recently by Sen. Lisa Murkowski when she compared the high cost of the new Health Reform law to having to pay a mortgage on a house but not being able to live in it. It seems an alternative analogy is being tasked with repairing a house that has been sorely lacking in upkeep for decades: costs will need to be incurred well before the house is up to code enough to live in.
