"Nanny State" is no longer a metaphor
By Jay Jones

Commissioner LeDoux's letter disappointed me although it was expected. The State of Alaska has determined that large amounts of parents are incapable of raising their own toddlers correctly.

Vague suppositions aside, do we really want the Department of Education entering the daycare business? Never mind competition, what about the affect of state run daycare (any daycare for that matter) on the children? If citizens turn their backs on what the proper role of government is and they refuse to debate it or uphold it to law, then they have not preformed their proper role as citizens and their children will have NO future regardless of WHOMEVER raises or educates them.
