President Don Young
By Peter Stanton

Browsing through the letters here I happened upon the idea that "What we need is someone like Don Young in the White House[.]" This idea truly struck me. It's amazing. A Don Young Presidency might be an unprecedented event in the history of these United States!

What precedent might it set? Don Young would perhaps be the most corrupt American president in history.

I have personally met Don Young, and not only is he dislike-able in person, but his actions of late alone are unarguable proof of the man's fall from whatever ethical standards he might have had. Why would our representative create an earmark for a road in Florida that is completely unrequested by the representation and people of the area, but beneficial to a campaign contributor? Why would he spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on legal fees? Why do we think that keeping a politician around for decades won't make them feel comfortable enough to start reaping the benefits?

I really don't think it matters what your political persuasion is on whether Don Young should be reelected as our representative in Congress. Please vote for Parnell, LeDoux, Berkowitz or whomever, but Don Young has simply got to go.
