"Wilson Clinic"
By Janet Spear

This is my first Sitnews Opinion/Letter. Just a sadness, as I read that the Wilson Clinic is going to be renamed PeaceHealth Primary Care Clinic. I do realize that times change and life moves on, but that has been happening too often in our beautiful town of Ketchikan.

The Wilsons' were doctors who were an integral part of our town through many years and I am sure impacted many a life of those in Ketchikan. A father and two sons growing up and going to school in Ketchikan and then returning as doctors in our community.

Aren't there some things that shouldn't change, that are important to remember? "Ted Ferry Civic Center","Stedman St", "Houghtaling Elementary" named for grocer and school board member Bert Houghtaling. These are just of few of our town's names that should stay with us. But I also realize that one little tiny voice isn't enough to change the way things are going but I did just want to put my 2 cents in! And hopefully the Wilsons realize that there are many in Ketchikan that will never forget them or the care they took of all who saw them!

Thanks for listening!
