RE: Dogs, kids... and volunteering

Obviously Scott Kline does not know me nor did he listen to or attend the school board meeting.

At the school board meeting I did not say that anyone should be fired nor did I comment on the second of the Stretgeic Plan objectives. I was misquoted and notified the newspaper. I stated that the school district needs to go in a different direction as there has not been the needed progress. I commented that the school district is not fullfilling its Mission or its first objective in the Stretigic Plan for over 50% of the high school students overall and 70% of the Native students at the high school.

I spent years volunteering in Ketchikan, including teaching children to read. I established the free afterschool homework program HATS (Homework Assistance, Tutoring, and Snacks), helped write the Revilla Island Prevention Coalition grant to provide funding for numerous programs for children in Ketchikan, and worked with many other parents of Special Education students to get a better program for the children - to name just a few of my activities. On average for a number of years I volenteered about 25 hours per week, all to help children. For years I helped many children and I really do think that others need to step up and do their part as well. Exactly what have you done, Scott Kline?

As an individual I can have any opinion I desire. I can believe very strongly that all dog breeding is wrong and state my belief. So please, do not tell me what to think, say, or do.
