I just wanted to take a minute to thank all the folks who emailed me about the column I wrote about the Wingren's and Log Cabin grocery stores. Yes, I was incorrect when I said both stores were in the "basements" of the tall buildings! Log Cabin Grocery was on the lot next to the Austin Building, although to me it always seemed like it was part of the same structure. Oddly enough, I went to kindergarten in the basement of the Austin building and it was't a grocery store. But now it is a bar. So it goes.
