RE: Plug Into Shore Power

Carrie James raises an interesting point about cutting back on air pollution and raising local revenues by having the big ships plug into the local power grid.

When this came up last year, the response was that Ketchikan currently doesn't have enough surplus electrical power to handle the additional load. KPU made the comparison that the average big ship uses as much electricity as Wrangell.

Just another reason why we need to finish the unfinished Swan Lake - Lake Tyee electrical intertie!
