Thanks and Cheers

Thanks and Cheers to everyone who took time out from their busy schedule to pick up trash along the roadsides this past weekend. I drove S. Tongass yesterday and found it to be cleaner than it has been in a long time. Sure I found some fresh stuff which I recycled at a local business, but it really looks nice.

A special "Thanks" to the Ketchikan Running Club which includes Ketchikan Mayor Robert Weinstein and others who accomplished the nearly impossible task of cleaning up the road section between the Coast Guard Base and Saxman. It looks great and they set a fine example for others to follow. What excuse does anyone have to not help keep Ketchikan clean if these busy people can find time in their schedule to donate their time to the community. Many times the time they spend and the example they set is worth far more to the community than we can express in words. Let's hope that it is a symbol to others that we will not put up with trash as usual and that the community is united in the fight against it.

"Thanks Bob and the other Running Club members for a cleaner Ketchikan."
