Herring 1, Fishermen 0

I guess that being the son and grandson of trollers tends to make me delight in any event where the fish outfox those "unfair" net fishers. Still, you have to give the herring credit for a greater level of smarts than their salmon brethren. Despite hooks, nets, fishtraps and all the impediments, the salmon keep swimming back to the same place making them easier targets. Herring it seem learn from their environment and the attempts to catch them. They move away from the pressure. Betcha they start spawning up in Glacier Bay as soon as the feds completely close it to fishing!
