Money down the drain. The city's leaders won't listen.

I want to thank everyone who attended the water meeting Wednesday. I believe the meeting was a great success. But to my point, now we find out that the City's water system wiith chlorine and UV are installed backwards. The chlorine is first in the water treatment and the UV last. So when the water goes through the chlorine first then to the UV, the UV kills the chlorine, and does not decontaminate the water properly. The system is backwards. And that is according to Bob Bowcock. We paid millions of dollars for the system and they cannot even get it right. When will our city leaders listen to us?

United Citizens for Better Water, is a group of local Ketchikan citizens concerned about our drinking water and our city's planned use of Chloramines in March, now has a petition that you can sign. To sign you must be a Ketchikan registered voter. The group is accepting City of Ketchikan registered voter signatures to get this issue on a ballot.

March 20th is Blue Shirt Day. Wear a blue shirt in support of United Citizens for Better Water's cause. Learn more about the Ketchikan group, United Citizens for Better Water by visiting their website at http://saveourwater.blog.com/ or their FaceBook page.

If you have any questions or would like to sign the petition, you can call me at 1 206 254 5445.

Thank you very much,

Ed Plute
