40 Days For Life

The 40 Days For Life spring campaign begins March 5th and continues through April 13. This is part of a global effort to bring awareness to the issue of abortion. One aspect of the campaign is to provide an opportunity for those interested in ending or diminishing abortions, increasing adoption &/or becoming a voice for the innocent pre-born among our community; to demonstrate their concern on a public street corner. This year's vigil site is near the corner of Jefferson and Tongass in the vicinity of Key Bank.

If you would like to join us as a vigil volunteer, here is the web site where you can sign up for your 40 Days for Life vigil campaign: http://40daysforlife.com/ketchikan.html Times available are 7-9:00 AM, 12-1:00 PM & 4-5:30 PM. You need not commit to the entire 40 days. You can sign up for just certain days &/or times - Or you may simply like to drop by and talk.... or deliver hot chocolate to the volunteers.

Last year two baby's lives were reported saved due to our local vigil efforts here in Ketchikan. Unfortunately over 25 other babies were terminated (killed) from within our community last year. It is not our intent to in any way diminish the deep anguish caused by an unwanted pregnancy, but in some way to become a voice for the one individual who has no voice in the matter of having his or her life terminated.

Kindly,

Rob Holston
